About The Artist

Kristopher has spent his adult life pushing the boundaries of live-edge furniture design.

A self-taught pioneer in the field of epoxy resin, his name has become synonymous with pristine works showcasing vibrant tropical waters flowing through burl wood canyons and waterways.

As a child living in Tuscany, Kristopher received a world-class education in art history and design. His mother, an art history fanatic from Marin, CA spent years touring the Florentine countryside educating her boys on fine sculpture, painting, and architectural design.

His adolescent years were spent in Orinda, California. A small suburb just outside of San Francisco, a stone’s throw from the world famous giant sequoia national forest.

It’s during these pivotal years that Kristopher learned the true meaning and value of hard work. From a young age Kristopher began shoveling concrete and sweeping job sites for his fathers construction company.

Little did he know that one day he’d seamlessly combine his fathers hands with his mothers artistic vision. One fateful day Kristopher entered a cluttered workshop just outside of San Francisco that had been around since the 1960’s.

They specialized in reclaimed burl wood furniture, something that was brand new to him as it had been 35 years since burl wood furniture was in style. Instantly, he was hooked. Little did he know, his life would be forever changed.

Eventually rotting on the vine at his corporate job, Kristopher decided to pursue his passion. He took on a full time apprenticeship with Northern California Redwood burl legend Jim Parodi.

After downloading 50 years of burl wood knowledge, and making hundreds of tables from the finest reclaimed burl wood in the world, Kristopher soon became Jim’s prodigy. Live edge furniture soon returned to the style and Kristopher was off to the races.

Kristopher’s first original design was the Resin River Table in 2016. Inspired by the crisp blue waters of the Mediterranean; he outlined waterways with kiln dried live edge maple slabs; something a few artists in Europe had attempted in the past, but with little success. The design went viral in 2018 and the rest is history.

Kristopher’s philosophy on success has remained the same. “You cannot make a quality product without quality material.”

His designs are often imitated but never replicated. A piece by Kristopher Kirkpatrick lets the material do the talking.

The end result should look effortless, as if a tree just happened to grow into a table.
